The issue came out a couple of weeks earlier, so here we go!

My first ever inks on X-Men Legacy :faint:

I think my reaction went something like this: "HOLY !@$# ITS GAMBIT!!! *drool*" Yes, my fan girl still lurks.... ;P

*cough* Annnnnnnyways, I enjoyed working over Steve's pencils!

Wonderful inks, D! This is outstanding! I don't know how you do such perfect crosshatching but I'm totally jealous! heheh :D

Your inking skills are most impressive. Do you do any digital inking or do you only do traditional?

Thanks Stacy :D I use a french curve tool for the curved hatching/feathering, it takes a little practice but its pretty easy :D

I only ink by hand, I don't have the tools to go digital and I'd have to relearn my craft to do that - I haven't had the time :)

I'm the opposite. Good with digital inking, but not so good with traditional. lol Do you know if comic companies even hire digital inkers, or do they only want traditional inkers?

Very few digital inkers work out there, but they have to be on par with the traditional work we do in terms of skills and quality. For example, Jonathan Glapion sometimes inks digitally with a Cintiq. And I was asked by a major publisher once to transfer my skills to digital so that I could work in their licensing department, inking images that would be used for giant banners, displays and other merchandise. But I would have to learn to use Illustrator, which I never have so I wasn't able to do it.

Oh good, there is at least a little hope for digital inkers then. heheh :) Cool! It's something I've been working on learning, as I figure if I get good at it, it might get my foot in the door at one of the bigger comic companies, then I could eventually (hopefully) get the opportunity to do color work there. I'm not that great at inking, but I don't think I'm bad. *shrug* It's hard for me to judge my own work. Maybe if you have a minute or two one of these days, you could take a peak at my gallery and give me any advice or critique on my inks. I'm working on finding some sequential art to ink, so if you know of any pencilers with tight pencils that don't mind inkers practicing on their lines, please let me know. :D

I learned hands on from other inkers - if we can meet up at a show again I could give you a quick lesson :)

Sounds like a good plan! :D Hopefully we'll be able to meet up at one of the cons.
