EDIT: The book has been renamed The Chronicles of Dr. Herbert West #1 and hit store shelves the first week of October 2008.

This is a page from a book I was inking for Zenescope Entertainment back in June and July 2007. The publishing date is unknown at this time, but it was supposed to come out this fall.

These pages were inked in June-July 2007. At the time I was a brush inker but quickly found myself using 99% crowquill on this particular pencil, and my job was to translate certain parts of the penciler's greyscale rendering (shading) into basic hatching which the colourist could then apply rendered colouring to. I felt I was out of my depth but did the best I could to learn on the fly.

THE LETTERING OF PANEL 1 IS DONE BY HAND WITH CROWQUILL :D

The book is Re-Animator #1 and is a comic book adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft story. It was penciled by Jason Craig, inked by myself, and colored by Thomas Mason.

Pencils by Jason Craig
Inks by Diana Greenhalgh

Materials:
- EON art board
- Hunt 102 crowquill
- toothbrush
- ink

Beautiful work as is the usual. Sides I loved the Re-Animator horror film from the 80's and Lovecraft was an excellent horror writer.

Thanks man :) I just wish this book had come out when it was supposed to --- as far as I know the publisher shelved it (they haven't told me anything about it since SDCC). It sucks cause I put 2 months worth of work into that book.

Shelved it? That does bite. After putting all that work into it I'd be pissed. But hey don't sweat it your work is excellent. Before long I'm sure someone will throw something your way.
